Tom and Jerry's

Always a great way to warm you up on those cold winter days. But this recipe is just not right unless you have a Tom and Jerry bowl set. Don't know what happened to Mom's set but I was able to find one at a garage sale. Mom would always make one for us older kids. It always made a mustache on our lip when we drank them.

5 eggs, separated
2 lb powdered sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
whiskey, brandy or rum
dash of nutmeg

Beat egg yolks together. Add powdered sugar. Beat egg whites separately until stiff. Add cream of tartar. Gently fold egg whites into the egg yolk mix. Put alcohol into bottom of a mug. Add boiling water 2/3 full. Add batter mix to the top. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
