Turtle Brownies from Julie's Eats and Treats

These Turtle Brownies have it all. Fudgy Brownies packed with Chocolate Chips, Salted Caramel Sauce and Pecans. Almost too good to be true!

For the Brownies:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 large eggs
1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup caramel bits
For the Topping:
6 ounces semisweet or dark chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup chocolate covered caramels (I used Rolos), chopped
3/4 cup pecans, roughly chopped
1/3 cup salted caramel sauce
