Every time I make these turtles, I plan on sharing the recipe but never have. It's not like I've been trying to keep them a secret or anything, it's just that I've been very tortoise like it getting it done. Today I'll cross the finish line in regards to sharing the recipe with you. Trust me when I tell you that they'll leave all other homemade candies in the dust! 1 cup butter (I use salted)
1 cup light corn syrup
2 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
candy thermometer
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 pounds of pecans
1 package of chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet)
2 tablespoons of shortening
