Gluten Free Fried Pickles

Ingredients

1    quart    dill pickles ( sliced )
1    cup    buttermilk
2    cups    cornmeal, white
1    tablespoon    salt
1    teaspoon    Old Bay seasoning
1/4    teaspoon    cajun seasoning
   oil ( for frying )

Directions

Place enough oil in a 4 or 5 quart cast iron Dutch Oven to fill half way. Bring oil to 400 degrees F. Remove pickles from the brine and cut lengthwise into quarters.Place the buttermilk in swallow dish and mix together the cornmeal and seasonings in a separate dish. Dip each pickle, 1 at a time, first into the buttermilk, then into the cornmeal and then repeat. Carefully place dill in oil and fry 3 or 4 at a time.
