Shepherd's Pie - a bit Indianized

When I searched for a savoury pie recipe I happened to view some of the wonderful dishes that were called the Shepherd's Pie. All those pics made me drool over it, so decided to try it out and satisfy myself. ... and yes of course my family too. Made this for dinner and surprisingly my li'l boy - the fussy eater - loved it so much that he gladly asked for a second helping. Hubby loved it too and asked me to keep making it whenever I can. TOP LAYER

Potatoes - 3 or 4 nos - boiled and mashed
Butter - 2 tbsp
Milk - 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup
Salt - as required
Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp

MIDDLE LAYER

Pasta - 2 cups - cooked
Cream - 2 tbsp
Milk - 1 cup
Salt - to taste
Pepper - 1/2 tsp

BOTTOM LAYER

Sausage - 3 or 4 nos - cut in cubes
Onion - 1 big - chopped
Carrot - 1 - chopped
Cabbage - chopped - 1/2 cup
Capsicum - chopped - 1/2 cup
Tomato - 2 - chopped
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Kashmir chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Jeera powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - to taste
Coriander leaves - for garnish
