Appe or paddu is another traditional element of south indian cooking. It is just different variation of idali.

1 cup split lentils(urad dal)
3 cups rice
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds(methi)
salt to taste
2 tbsp chopped Onion
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp finely Chopped Green Chilies
1 tbsp chopped capsicum
1 tbsp chopped Cilantro
8 to 10 Curry Leaves
3 cups rice
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds(methi)
salt to taste
2 tbsp chopped Onion
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp finely Chopped Green Chilies
1 tbsp chopped capsicum
1 tbsp chopped Cilantro

1.Take and rinse the urad dal & rice. soak the urad dal with fenugreek seeds in a separate bowl. soak the rice separately for at least over night or 6-7 hrs .
