This quick bread holds great memories from my childhood ... my Mom made it all the time. With grated fresh apple and sweet currants, it's one of my all-time favorite breads.

1/3 c. butter
2/3 c. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
2 T. milk
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. peeled shredded apple (about 2 medium or 1 very large apple)
1 c. dried currants
1/2 c. chopped nuts (I use pecans)
2/3 c. granulated sugar
