BBQ Cheddar Burgers

BBQ sauce and cheese are mixed in to make these tasty patties.

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
8 oz medium cheddar brick cheese, cut into 1/4 inch squares
1 package onion/mushroom soup mix
1/4 cup honey BBQ sauce
1/2 cup bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients well, form into patties, refrigerate patties for at least 1 hour ( to firm them up). Grill patties until desired doneness.

3 slices thick cut bacon
1 small Vidalia onion
2 cloves garlic
2 15.5 oz cans diced tomatoes
1 T sugar
2 t fresh thyme leaves
1 dried bay leaf
1/2 t apple cider vinegar
1/2 t Worcestershire sauce
2 c fresh or frozen okra
salt and pepper ( to taste )
