I have been making these for 20 years. They got me through morning sickness. My family loves them. They are dense and buttery and simple.

½ c. melted butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. milk
¼ t. salt
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 t. soda
1 c. brown sugar

Mix, but just until blended. The trick with muffins is you don't want to overmix or they will be pointy on the top and not as soft. Spray muffin pan.
375 for 20 min.
