Sweet, honeycomb-like doughnut that is sprinkled with POWDERED SUGAR!!!!! YUM-MY :D Oh and I believe these were invented because of....Mardi Gras? O_0?

3/4 cup whole milk

1 1/2 cups buttermilk

4 teaspoons active dry yeast

3 tablespoons granulated sugar

4 to 4 1/2 cups bread flour(or all-purpose flour), plus about 1 cup extra for flouring the work surface

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

Canola oil, for frying(about 1 quart)

Powdered sugar, for serving(about 1-2 cups)
