Caramel Apple Crisp

Warm apple crisp with a double layer of brown sugar/oat topping then drizzled with caramel sauce. This dish serves a crowd and is a family favorite.

2 cups flour
2 cups old fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar ( light )
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ( divided )
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups butter (3 sticks), at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
12-14 medium apples peeled ( cored and sliced )
1 caramel sauce ( I used Smuckers )
