Cheddar Ham Chowder

I got this cheddar ham chowder recipe from a friend who lives in Maine. If anyone would need to know how to warm up on a cold day, she would living in such northern state! This is a thick, cheesy soup that will warm you up on a cold day! It’s easy to make but it does take a few ingredients that you may not have on hand. The result is well worth the effort! There’s nothing better than a pot of homemade soup!

4 cups water
4 cups cubed potatoes
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 cup carrot
1/2 cup sliced celery
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup butter
1/2 flour
2 cups milk
3-4 cups cheddar cheese or Velveeta
1 cup frozen corn {optional}
3 cups cubed ham
4 cups cubed potatoes
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 cup carrot
1/2 cup sliced celery
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup butter
1/2 flour
2 cups milk
3-4 cups cheddar cheese or Velveeta
1 cup frozen corn {optional}
3 cups cubed ham
In a large pot bring to a boil the first 7 ingredients.
2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until vegetables are tender. Don’t drain the liquid.
