Cheesy Beef & Macaroni
59
A favorite, affordable comfort food, this dish comes together quickly and easily. It doesn't take much more effort than it's store-bought, boxed counterpart, but it tastes far better! It's a one-pan recipe, so clean-up is also a breeze!
8
1 pound ground beef, extra lean
3 cups milk
2 cups hot water
2 cups uncooked whole wheat elbow macaroni
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
1 Tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
a pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cups shredded cheese, Mexican blend
3 cups milk
2 cups hot water
2 cups uncooked whole wheat elbow macaroni
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
1 Tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
a pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cups shredded cheese, Mexican blend
Mix the seasonings with cornstarch in a small bowl till well combined. Set aside.
Cook the ground beef in a large skillet. Drain and discard fat. Return beef to skillet. Add the spices, milk, water, and pasta and stir to combine. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Once boiling, cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Allow to cook for 10-12 minutes until pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed, stirring occasionally. When the pasta is tender, remove the pan from heat. Stir in the cheese till melted and well mixed. Serve immediately.
