This rich and creamy chicken, spinach and artichoke pasta bake is comfort food at its best!

8 oz. (2 cups) uncooked elbow pasta
1½ cups cooked, shredded chicken
For the spinach and artichoke mixture:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
4 oz. spinach
1 can (14 oz.) artichoke hearts, drained, coarsely chopped
For the sauce:
¼ cup unsalted butter
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
½ cup chicken broth
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
¼ teaspoon salt, or more to taste
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or more to taste
For the topping:
¼ cup Panko bread crumbs
¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1.4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
