50ml (3 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon) coconut oil
105g (3/4 cup) dates
1 egg
70ml (1/4 cup + 2 teaspoons) milk
25g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
40g (1/4 cup) self raising gluten-free flour - see notes
25g (1/4 cup) ground almonds
40g (1/4 cup) polenta
Topping:
30g (1/3 cup) good quality dark chocolate
1 tablespoon honey
Sliced almonds (optional)

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
