Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars

Delicious dessert bars with a chocolate chip walnut shortbread crust & topping and a sticky toffee middle! A family favorite for the holidays for over 20 years now.

3 cups flour, unbleached or all-purpose
1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
1 cup butter, cold & cubed
1 egg, beaten
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, reserve 1/2 cup for the top
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 ounce) bag Heath English Toffee Bits, reserve 1/3 cup for the top
