I am not usually a fan of one trick ponys in the kitchen. Take the cherry pitter, for instance. All it does is pit cherries. So, the story goes, I buy cherries, I remove the pits (painstaking) and THEN I remember, "doy, you have a cherry pitter!!!" Annoying! Well, for my birthday I asked for donut pans (another one trick pony) BUT this might be my favorite one trick pony EVER!!!! For the donuts:
Cooking spray
2 c. all purpose flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. nutmeg
1/4 t. salt
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 1/4 c. milk (I used vanilla almond milk)
2 T. unsalted butter, melted
2 t. vanilla extract
For the topping:
8 T. unsalted butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 t. cinnamon
Cooking spray
