Crispy Corn Vada

Corn vada is a very crisp,light and tasty snack.It goes good as a starter,finger food or a simple evening snack. Corn vada is simple and easy to make recipe.

1 cup Corn kernels
1 Onion finely chopped
2 Green chili finely chopped
1 tsp. Salt
1 tbsp. Coriander leaves
½ tsp. Garam masala powder
¼ cup Corn meal powder/ corn flour
Oil for deep frying
½ tsp. Ginger finely chopped
¼ tsp.Cumin seeds
1 tsp. Chana dal (optional)
1.In a large mixing bowl ,add corn kernels, corn flour, chopped onion, green chilies, garam masala,salt,cumin seeds, Chana dal,chopped ginger, coriander leaves and combine well. 2. Add water little at a time and make a soft dough. 3. Take a lemon size dough and flatten it on your palm to make vada/Patti shape. use all the dough and prepare the vadas. 4. Heat oil for deep frying.once its hot,reduce the flame to medium and slowly place the vada in oil and fry them on both sides to a golden brown color. 5. Transfer the vada to serving plate and serve hot with chutney or tomato ketchup.
