Crockpot Mongolian Beef

Easy beef dish that you can leave all day and know that a great dinner will be ready when you get home.

1.5 lbs of top round steak, sliced thinly against grain
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 green onions, sliced
1 tablespoon dried onion
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup white wine
1/2 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon molasses
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
1/2 tablespoon peanut butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch

Marinated Taro Root

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
