The best apple pie filling recipe to use in baking and desserts.
4 cups peeled and cored and chopped cooking apples
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cups packed SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend
1/4 cup corn starch (rice starch can also be used)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
2 cups water (room temperature), divided (plus extra if needed)
