Favorite, Easy Chili

This is our favorite, basic chili recipe. It is so simple to make and easily adaptable. Want some onions and peppers? Throw them in! Don’t like a lot of heat? Leave out the crushed red pepper! I usually just throw everything in the slow cooker for however much time I have, typically 4-8 hours (the longer the better). It can easily be made on the stove top as well; just leave it to simmer for a minimum of 30 minutes.

1 pound ground beef
1 (16 oz) can of chili beans
1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp crushed red pepper
Your favorite chili toppings
1. Brown the ground beef. Drain any extra fat. 2. While the beef is cooking, combine all ingredients in your slow cooker or a large pot. Rinse out each of the cans with water and add to the slow cooker/pot. Add cooked ground beef. 3. Cook on low 4-8 hours; or simmer on the stove top 30 minutes, or until ready to serve. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
