Fourth of July Deviled Eggs

30

Looking for a delicious and patriotic recipe for your 4th of July picnic! This one is unique and fun!

12
1 dozen eggs
Food Coloring
1 cup of Miracle whip
1 tbl of Yellow Mustard
1. Boil the eggs for 20-30 minutes. After they are boiled, soak them in ice cold water to cool them off, then pel off the shells. 2. Get two big bowls, and fill them with water. Make sure you don’t fill them too high as once you put the eggs in they will make the water go over the top. 3. Add blue food coloring. You are going to add a little more than you think. I would just play with the amount until you get a dark color. The darker it is the faster your eggs are going to color. Add your eggs, and soak. Make sure your eggs are completely covered by the water for an even dye. Let sit for at least 30 minutes. 4. Use a plastic spoon to lift the eggs out of the water to check for the color you want them to be. Be careful not to scratch them! 5. When your eggs are the color you want them to be, lay down a large brown paper bag, or some cardboard and then several paper towels over that to soak up the color. Mine had a purplish hue to them and the colors were kind of swirled. I’m not really sure why, but they were pretty! Be careful when handling the eggs so you don’t get the dye all over your clothes. 6. Cut the eggs in half length-wise and put your cooked yellow yolks in a separate mixing bowl to save for later. 7. Next, take the cooked egg yolks that you saved in a separate bowl, and chop them up really small. I used a Pampered Chef chopper. I would suggest using a mixer or blender as our mixture had some bigger chunks in it. 8. Once the yolks are chopped, mix in your miracle whip and yellow mustard. You want it to be creamy and a little bit tangy! 9. Once your egg yolks are nice and creamy, add your red food coloring until you get a deep red color. 10. Next, get a spoon and pile your red yolk mixture into a cake decorator (usually used for frosting). If you don’t have a cake decorator, put the mixture into ziploc bag. Cut a very small piece of one of the corners and squeeze all of your mixture into that one corner. It will work just like a cake decorator. I used a star tip on the cake decorator and then pushed the mixture out in a circle with a tip on top! 11. Once you do that to all your eggs, you are done! Now you have red, white, and blue deviled eggs!
