16 ounces sauerkraut
1 (15-ounce) jar applesauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
6 (1-inch thick) pork loin chops
1/2 teaspoon dried sage

2 tablespoons lemon juice

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a medium baking dish. Rinse sauerkraut; drain.
Combine sauerkraut, applesauce and brown sugar in a medium bowl; mix well. Spoon into prepared baking dish.
Rub pork with sage. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork. Cook, turning once, until browned, about 2 minutes per side.
Arrange pork over sauerkraut mixture. Pour lemon juice and water over pork. Bake, covered with foil, until pork is tender, about 30 minutes.
