Gluten-Free Apple Fritters

Fresh, delicious, and tender, these Gluten-Free apple fritters are a great way to usher in fall! They make a great snack or special treat! You won\\\'t know they are gluten-free, but you will notice the wonderful texture and flavors! Our family loves these simple little treats and we are betting yours will too!

1 cup gluten-free flour blend with xanthan gum (swap for an equal amount of regular flour if you’re not making them GF)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon milk (skip the extra tablespoon if you’re not making them GF)
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons applesauce (skip this or replace the butter with this if you’re not making them GF)
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 granny smith apple, peeled, cored and diced
