This recipe is so old that it calls for “oleo” instead of margarine, every time I make this recipe I have this moment where I think “Wait, what is oleo again…?” I use butter when I bake now and the cookies turn out great, so feel free to use margarine or butter whichever you prefer! These sugar cookies are by far my family’s favorite. They are light, and crisp and not overly sweet–although you definitely taste the sugar. Grandma’s Sugar Cookies

1 Cup Margarine or butter
1 Cup Vegetable Oil
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Powdered sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
4 Cups Flour
1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
