"Healthified" Oatmeal Cookies

I love oatmeal cookies and they already give a healthy dose of oats, but this version reduces the sugar content, subs in some whole wheat flour and oat bran. The results create a nutty and irresistible cookie.

¾ cup butter, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
1 large egg
2 tsp. vanilla
¾ cup flour
¾ cup whole wheat flour
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. baking powder
1½ cups old-fashioned oats

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
