Healthy Chocolate Sauce

This healthy chocolate sauce is sugar, butter/oil, and dairy free, while still having a rich cocoa flavor. A perfect choice for those days when you want to avoid the junk, but you just have to have some chocolate. It has a pretty thin texture (I would call it more of a chocolate syrup than sauce) and is comparable to a healthy version of Hershey's :)

3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup agave (do NOT substitute, flavor here is important!)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup boiling water
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
Combine agave, cocoa, and salt while water comes to a boil (I used a hand mixer; it splattered a lot so next time I think I’d just mix it by hand with a spoon). Add boiling water while mixing. Add syrup and vanilla and mix again. Refrigerate for several hours to thicken, or eat it warm. Enjoy!
