Healthy Fruit & Vegetable Smoothie
30
Smoothies are completely hit or miss with me. I don’t care for the overly sugary ones that are typically sold in coffee shops or restaurants, so whenever I’m craving/needing a huge dose of nutrients, I stick to making my own. Sometimes I swap out different fruits, depending on what I have on hand, but I usually stick to this combo because it’s a win for me. It’s not bland, watery, or a sugar bomb like other smoothies I’ve had. And my daughter loves scarfing them down, so I feel sneaky & plea
4
1 banana
1/2 avocado
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup peaches
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt (we like to make our own)
1 cup milk (any kind)
2 tablespoons ground flax seed
2 cups spinach or other leafy green (I've tried kale & swiss chard, too)
1/2 avocado
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup peaches
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt (we like to make our own)
1 cup milk (any kind)
2 tablespoons ground flax seed
2 cups spinach or other leafy green (I've tried kale & swiss chard, too)
Add all of the contents into the blender & blend away. It is helpful to add a bit of fruit, then a bit of milk, then more fruit, etc. so that it blends easily.
