My Aunt Doris has always been a phenomenal cook! Whenever my family would take a trip out to the farm, Aunt Doris would whip up a batch of her homemade buns and have them ready for supper. I am excited to share this recipe with you, I know that you will love it. Nothing beats a warm, homemade bun.

4 packages yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
2 teaspoons sugar
2 cups milk, scalded
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 teaspoons salt
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup shortening, melted and cooled
14 cups flour
**Keep in mind, this recipe was from the farm, so large batches were necessary. This recipe can be cut in half if needed!**

Combine yeast, water, and sugar and set aside (this will rise and get foamy). Combine water, sugar, and salt to scalded milk. Cool to room temperature. beat eggs adn add to milk mixture. Add part of the flour, beat. Add yeast mixture and beat well. Add shortening, beat. Add remaining flour. Turn onto floured board and knead. Add more flour as necessary until the dough is no longer sticky. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and let rise again. Shape into buns. Let rise for 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
