Homemade Hamburger Helper

The first bite of this brought back memories of my childhood and my mom making hamburger helper. It was so simple to throw together and was gobbled up by our 2 kids!

1 lb ground beef
1 TBSP homemade taco seasoning or 1 package taco seasoning
1 can diced tomatoes
2 cups beef broth
1 cup elbow macaroni
Cheese sauce:
2 TBSP butter
2 TBSP flour
3/4 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 TBSP homemade taco seasoning or 1 package taco seasoning
1 can diced tomatoes
2 cups beef broth
1 cup elbow macaroni
Cheese sauce:
2 TBSP butter
2 TBSP flour
3/4 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Melt the butter in a pan.
Add the flour and cook, stirring for 4 minutes.
Whisk in the milk and bring to a boil.
Stir and cook until well combined and thickened.
Turn off heat and stir in the cheese until melted.
Add the salt and pepper to the sauce.
Pour the cheese sauce over the hamburger mixture.
Stir to combine.
Enjoy!
