Inside Out German Chocolate Cake

I am the cake maker in my family. Every event that pops up, I get a call (or a text as it may be) asking for a cake. So I was not shocked, when I got a call asking for a cake for my Grandma’s 85th birthday party. I was even less shocked, that she was asking for German chocolate, which is quite possibly my least favorite cake ever. Chocolate is great, but I hate coconut, and I don’t love pecans. There is absolutely nothing I hate more than making a cake that I know I will not enjoy eating.

10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter, plus more for pans
7 ounces bittersweet chocolate
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
