Italian Sausage Pasta with Peppers

16 oz pasta (spiral or egg noodles)
1 lb ground Italian sausage
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup diced yellow onion
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
3 tsp minced garlic
1 can stewed tomatoes
2 tsp dried basil
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
Cook noodles according to package directions until al dente. Brown sausage; drain fat from pan. Remove sausage from pan and drain on paper towels. Add oil to pan and saute onions and peppers until translucent. Add garlic and saute gently. Stir in tomatoes, basil and Parmesan; salt and pepper to taste. Add sausage back to pan, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve over cooked pasta.
