Hot-out-of-the-oven little pies, filled with hearty, savory filling and surrounded by crisp, flaky crust.

1/2 pound lean ground beef
2 and 1/2 tablespoons butter
2 and 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 and 1/2 cups beef broth
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
1 cup cube-style frozen hash browns, thawed
salt and pepper
3 refrigerated pie crusts (or equivalent homemade), brought to room temperature
