1 1/2 cups Toor Dal (Also known as split pigeon pea lentils, they are orange)
4 cups water
1 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. coconut oil
2 cups sliced onion
Masala:
4 garlic cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
1 tsp. ground coriander
1/2 jalapeno, chopped
1 to 1 1/2 tbsp. grated fresh ginger
4 cups water
1 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. coconut oil

Masala:

In a pressure cooker add lentils, water, turmeric and salt. Once the pressure cooker is up to pressure, cook for 8 to 9 minutes. Allow it to release on it’s own.
