Here is a recipe for okra sauce/ stew, also known as bamya or bamia in some countries… Okra, by the way, was a delicacy Cleopatra swore by.

1 strand of okra or ½ fresh okra finely diced into rounds
1 pound (or a little more) veal or sirloin
2 tbsp butter
2 carrots (medium)
1 onion (large)
2-3 garlic cloves
¼ bunch parsley
½ tsp seasoned salt
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp paprika
½ lemon
