Pizza Pot Pie

Taking deep dish pizza to a whole new level!

Crust--
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 1/3 cups flour

Filling--
1 cup diced pepperoni stick
3/4 pound Italian sausage, ground
1-6 oz. package turkey pepperoni
1-15 oz can pizza sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 diced green pepper
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1. Combine the water and yeast in a large bowl. Allow to sit for 10 minutes or until foamy. 2. Mix in remaining ingredients and 3 cups flour. 3. Knead in the remaining 1/3 cup flour. 4. Place dough in a greased bowl and allow to rise until doubled, about 1 hour. 5. Meanwhile, brown the ground sausage with the spices and green pepper. Add the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. 6. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. 7. Punch down the dough and divide into two balls. 8. Roll out both balls of dough into large circles. Place one in a large pie pan. 9. Layer the sausage/sauce mixture with the pepperoni, turkey pepperoni, and cheese. Make the top layer be cheese. 10. Cover the pie with the other dough circle. Fold up the edges to make a thick crust. 11. Mix 2 tablespoons olive oil with 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning and brush over the entire top of the pizza pie. 12. Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes, or until cooked through.
