Poor Man's Chicken Marbella

3 lbs. chicken parts
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 tsp. oregano (dried)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
3 bay leaves
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup Spanish olives

1/2 cup dry white wine
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
Mix all but chicken, wine and brown sugar. Prick skin of chicken several times and add to marinade. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350. Remove chicken, reserving the marinade. Add white wine to the marinade, place chicken pieces in a 9x13 baking dish, cover with marinade and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for about 50 minutes or until chicken reaches 165 degrees, basting a few times during cooking. If the skin doesn't brown to your liking, put it under a low broiler for just a few minutes after it has finished cooking. Remove bay leaves before serving.
