A delicious cake with layers of sponge, vanilla custard, cherry jam, vanilla nutmeg whipped cream, and marzipan.

For the Cake:
4 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla

For the vanilla custard:
1 c. heavy cream, divided
4 egg yolks
2 T. cornstarch
2 T. sugar
1 vanilla bean, split down the middle
1 t. vanilla extract
1/2 t. nutmeg

To assemble the cake:
2 c. heavy whipping cream
2 T. sugar
2 t. vanilla extract
1 t. nutmeg
Sponge Cake, cooled
Vanilla Nutmeg Pastry Cream, chilled
Light green marzipan
1/2 c. homemade cherry jam
