Rotel Cups

A scrumptious appetizer that will have your guests pleading for your recipe!

4 pkgs. mini fillo pastery shells (found in the frozen dessert aisle)
1 can (10 oz.) mild Rotel, Drained
1 bag (4.5 oz) real bacon bits
1 cup Plus 2 Tbsp. Miracle Whip
1/8 tsp. "Soul Food" seasoning salt
2 cu ps colby/Monterey jack shredded cheese blend
Preheat oven to 350º. In a medium bowl, blend Rotel, bacon bits, Miracle Whip & seasoning salt, mixing well. Then blend in shredded cheese mix. Line cookie sheet with waxed paper & lay out shells. Fill all the shells with the cheese mixture. Bake 18 - 20 minutes until they are hot & bubbly. *This makes 60 shells, or enough for 12 people - 5 appetizers each*

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
