Southern Cornbread

Whenever my family wants something to REALLY taste good we do it Southern style...double the butter, double the sugar. This recipe is definitely delicious Southern Cornbread!

1 cup flour, 1 cup cornmeal, 1 cup white sugar, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 cup of butter melted, 1/3 cup milk plus 1 tbs milk, 1 cup sour cream, 1 egg slightly beaten.
In a bowl mix the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. In a separate bowl mix the butter, milk, sour cream, and egg. Combine the two bowls but be sure not to over mix the ingredients. Pour ingredients into a buttered 8x8 baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes.
