Spiced Maple Chicken Burgers with Sweet Potato and Apple Hash

Slathered in a gently spiced maple syrup glaze, beautifully caramelized in the skillet during the final minutes of cooking, the chicken patties are gorgeous, with outstanding flavor. Topped with an optional poached or fried egg, you have yourself one heckuva breakfast plate.

for the sweet potato and apple hash:
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/4 tsp. smoked paprika
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
2 T. unsalted butter
2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2" cubes
1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 c. water
1 large apple, peeled and cut into 1/2" cubes
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
