Spicy Bacon Vodka Pasta Sauce

I’ve been on this “make your own pasta sauce” kick for a few years now ever since finding out that the store-bought jars often have TONS of sugar and sodium. I was always doctoring them up with garlic and more seasonings anyway, so now I just do it myself and save the money. Not to mention it tastes about ten times more fresh and delicious. 1 cup vodka
4 slices of bacon
1 cup half & half
1 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes
1 8 oz. can of tomato sauce
3-4 garlic cloves
olive oil
3-4 tbsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
salt and pepper to taste
4 servings of your favorite pasta (I dig whole grain linguine, obviously)
1 lb ground chicken (optional)
Measure out one cup of vodka. Add red pepper flakes to the measuring cup with the vodka and let sit for one hour. While the vodka sits (maybe after about 30 minutes), go ahead and cook the ground chicken...
