Moist Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes with a surprise strawberry stuffed inside. Drizzled with strawberries in syrup for the perfect dessert.

1/2 cup shortening or room temperature butter
1 + 1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup milk
Center Filling18 strawberries (or strawberries in syrup can be used)
Buttercream Frosting
1 + 1/2 cup (3 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
4 + 1/2 cup powdered sugar
6 tablespoons heavy cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
