Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Homemade Sweet and Sour Meatballs make a delicious and easy dinner recipe! These baked meatballs are juicy, tender and full of flavor from the homemade smoky and sweet sauce they are topped with. We love serving them for the holidays and they are freezer friendly!

Meatballs:
13 oz evaporated milk
3 lb ground beef
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup chopped onions
2 eggs
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp chili powder
Sauce:
1 1/2 cup ketchup
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Mix all ingredients for meatballs together. Form meatballs and place in 2-9×13 inch glass baking dish.
  • Mix sauce and pour over the meatballs.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Paprika
Large eggs
Panko bread crumbs
Canola oil or vegetable oil
Parsley and lemon ( optional )

Add vegetable oil to a heavyweight pan with sides. There should be just enough oil so that the cutlets can gently float as they cook. Place the pan over medium heat.
