Utah scones

Delicious light, fluffy, and golden brown scones. Perfect for honey butter, Navajo tacos

Scone dough

In kitchen aid or bread mixer add
2 cups warm (not hot) water
1/4 c shortening
Then add on top of water and shortening
4 cups flour
1 heaping TBSP of instant yeast
2 tsp salt
1/4 c dry milk
1/4 c sugar
Mix on low until everything is blended well and no lumps are visible. Slowly add in another 1/2 cup flour until you get to a consistency where the dough is tender and pinch-able but to where it doesn't stick to your fingers when you let go. Scrape the dough out onto counter surface and cover with a towel or plastic and let rest/rise for 15-20 minutes. Pinch off dough and make scones. :-)
