Vada Pav (Maharashtrian's Burger )

You can say it maharashtrian's very own burger. Vada pav is most popular maharashtrian recipe .The vada is made of a spicy potato filling deep fried in a gram flour batter. Along with a hot and spicy garlic chutney, and fried chili . it is served inside a small "Pav or bread ".

Bread/pav - 4-6
Oil for deep frying
For the vada filling
1.boiled and mashed potatoes 2-3 cup
2.green chillies, chopped- 2
3. grated garlic 1 tbsp
4.mustard seeds -1 tbsp
5.asafoetida (hing)1-2 tbsp
6.curry leaves - 6-8
7.turmeric powder-half tbsp
8.oil- 1tbsp
9.salt to taste
10.chopped onion
11. suger 1tbsp
For the outer covering
1. gram flour/besan- 3/4 cup
2. turmeric powder =1/2 tbsp
3. a pinch of baking soda
4. 1 tsp oil
5.salt to taste

1.Heat the oil and add the mustard seeds. When they crackle, add the asafetida, turmeric and curry leaves .
2.Add green chili, garlic,onion to it .
3.Add potato then sprinkle some salt sugar and mix well...
