Veg Stuffed Buns

A little excited to present this post coz this is my first attempt at making/baking bread. Well, can't say exactly that it's my FIRST, should rather say my first SUCCESSFUL attempt. I was actually browsing the net for a doughnut recipe and somehow ended up with bread recipes. I liked one in particular - stuffed cheesy buns, and thought of giving it a try with some veggies too. Here's what I did....

For the bun -

Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
Yeast - 1 tbsp
Warm water - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Salt - 3/4 tsp
Milk - 1/2 cup
Butter - 2 tbsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Baking soda - a pinch (optional)

For the filling -

Onion - 1 - finely chopped
Carrot - 1 small - grated
Cabbage - chopped - 1/2 cup
Cheese - as required
Salt - to taste
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Put yeast in warm water along with sugar and salt, mix and keep aside for fermentation. Into a mixing bowl put both the flours and a pinch baking soda (my previous attempts didn't yield any risen dough, so...
