Yogurt Fish Recipe

This fish curry is simple to make, and perfect for a quick and easy midweek meal.

500 grams white fish, cut into cubes
2 cups yogurt
4 tbsp mustard oil
A punch of flour
1 bay leaf
1 cinnamon stick
2 inches ginger, ground to a paste
1 onion, sliced and ground into a paste
2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
Coat the fish with the flour and fry in a few tablespoons of oil until golden. Keep the fish aside. Fry the whole spices in hot oil and then add the ginger, onion and powders. Sauté for 2-3 minutes and then lower the flame. Stir in the yogurt, stirring until oil begins forming on the top. Then, add the fish and half a cup of water. Stir in the sugar and salt and allow the fish to cook on a low flame for ten minutes. Take the fish off the stove and serve!
