1 pound beef, flank steak ( or sirloin, thinly sliced crosswise )
1/4 cup cornstarch
3 tablespoons Canola oil
1/2 teaspoon ginger root ( grated )
3 clove(s) garlic ( chopped )
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes ( adjust to change heat )
to taste green onion ( for garnish )
