A light, healthy filing of apples & pears wrapped in phyllo dough

2 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into ½ inch chunks
1 pears, peeled, cored and cut into ½ inch chucks
Lime zest
5 tbsp. Brown sugar
1 tbsp. lime juice
3 tbsp. whole wheat pastry flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of kosher salt
12 phyllo sheets

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
